HOME DELIVERY OUTREACH ASSISTANT

Position Summary
The Home Delivery Outreach Assistant supports the library's mission by providing outreach and home delivery services to patrons who are unable to visit the library due to age, disability, illness, or transportation limitations. This position assists with selecting, delivering, and retrieving library materials while maintaining positive relationships with patrons and community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver library materials to eligible home bound patrons.
• Select and prepare materials based on patron interests and preferences.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, returns, and patron information.
• Communicate regularly with patrons regarding library services and materials.
• Assist with outreach events and programs in the community.
• Promote library services to senior centers, assisted living facilities, and community organizations.
• Operate your vehicle in a safe and professional manner.
• Assist with patron service duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry library materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
• Experience working with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or in a public library setting is preferred.

Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours per week. Some evening and occasional weekend hours may be required.
