Adult Service Programmer

Norwalk Public Library is seeking an event programmer, with a focus on Adult programming.

REQUIRED:

  • Previous programming experience, resume and cover letter EOE
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

Must have an interest/knowledge in current literature, pop culture, and media. Familiarity with the CLEVNET library system a plus.

This position will help maintain current programming such as tech tutors, adult crafts, and book clubs; may also assist in developing new programs and initiatives for this age demographic. This position requires considerable contact with the public and strong computer skills. Other duties include working our circulation desk.

We are looking for energetic and outgoing individuals eager to make positive connections. Candidates should  present an upbeat attitude, have a sense of humor, and place a top priority on excellent customer service. 

They should have the ability to work collaboratively with others and have an interest in, comfort with, and a genuine desire to serve and engage with people of all abilities and backgrounds.  This person must be able to think creatively, and to improvise in unforeseen or unexpected situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
