The Lane Libraries are seeking a full-time Branch Manager to serve as the head of the Fairfield location. The Branch Manager oversees day to day duties at the branch, manages employees, and participates in community groups, organizations, and outreach events.
Key characteristics we’re looking for include demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, adherence to assigned budgets, excellent communication skills, quality employee management techniques, and the capacity for independent judgment and action within established guidelines.
Core Responsibilities:
- Managing employees and maintaining a professional and positive workplace environment
- Evaluating the day to day goings-on of the branch, and its place in the system as a whole
- Staying informed about trends, developments, and best practices related to librarianship and management, as well as the Fairfield community and resources
- Representing the branch in various internal committees, as well as the library as a whole in the Fairfield City and Butler County community.
- Providing excellent customer service for patrons as they use the library
- Maintaining an active presence in the branch by working closely with employees, and covering desk shifts as needed
- Coordinating and providing programming for patrons both within and outside the building
Required:
- Completed master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited school
- Demonstrated experience in library administration, management, and leadership
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable with computers, including regular use of word processing and spreadsheets, library software, skilled internet searching, email, and video conferencing tools
- The ability to work independently under the guidelines of the Director, as well as able to work collaboratively with other management and committees

Salary & Benefits: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, non-exempt. Annual salary: $60,000 or more depending on experience. Benefits include: health, life, vision and dental insurance; paid sick leave, holidays, and vacation time; wellness program; mileage and tuition reimbursement; and short and long-term disability.
