The Clermont County Public Library (CCPL) is seeking a proactive and visionary Collection Services Manager to oversee our Collection Services Department. This position goes beyond maintaining a collection—it’s about shaping its future, responding to the needs of our community, and guiding staff through innovation and growth. About the Role:
As the Collection Services Manager, you’ll take an active role in shaping CCPL’s collection strategy. From analyzing usage trends to collaborating with staff on innovative approaches, you’ll ensure our collection remains dynamic, relevant, and responsive. This position isn’t about managing the status quo—it’s about leading the way forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively Shape Collections: Use data, trends, and community input to create a collection that reflects the diverse interests of Clermont County.
- Engage and Collaborate: Partner with staff to identify opportunities and challenges in meeting community demands.
- Strategic Oversight: Develop long- and short-term goals to align the collection with CCPL’s mission and strategic plan.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee acquisitions, cataloging, and processing while ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to budgetary priorities.
- Lead Through Change: Inspire and guide staff to embrace new ideas and adapt to evolving needs.
About You:
We’re looking for a forward-thinker and motivator with:
- A MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited program.
- At least three years of leadership experience in a library setting.
- A proven ability to anticipate and lead change in a collaborative environment.
- Strong skills in collection development, analysis, and decision-making to manage the selection, cataloging, processing, and distribution of diverse materials across all formats.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to inspire and engage staff at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with library technologies and a commitment to staying current in the field.
