Position: Library Director

Position Overview

In consultation with the Library Board of Trustees, the Director plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Bellevue Public Library; keeps informed of developments and participates in activities of professional and community organizations; provides guidance, leadership, and supervision to all library employees.

About Us:

The Bellevue Public Library is a Carnegie Library, serving the population of the Bellevue Public School District area. With a dedicated staff of 16 and an annual budget of approximately $1.2 million, the library is a community gem providing in person and digital access to materials, programs and services to meet the informational, cultural and educational needs of area residents.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree required.  Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program or pursuit of the MLIS is preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant library experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
• Ability to assess community needs and the library’s ability to meet those needs
• Experience representing the library with community groups and partner organizations
• In depth knowledge of electronic library resources and technology is required
• Experience with budget management and forecasting

• Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range $60,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience and education
• Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS); 10% employee contribution; 14% employer contribution
