2025 Convention and Expo: Call for Programs

2025 Convention and Expo: Call for Programs

2025 marks a significant milestone in Ohio library history – the 130th anniversary of OLC. The 2025 Convention and Expo, set for November 19-21 at the Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland, will celebrate the enduring values and principles that have guided our profession for more than a century. Since the inaugural meeting in Cleveland in 1895, OLC members have consistently led the way in offering resources and services that enrich lives, empower individuals, and strengthen communities.

The 2025 Convention and Expo will be a celebration of the accomplishments, growth, and transformation of Ohio's public libraries. It will serve as a gathering point for library professionals to reflect on past achievements, share current innovations, and collaborate on solutions to the challenges that lie ahead. This year's theme, Foundation to Future: Celebrating 130 Years of Progress and Purpose, will explore new perspectives and carry forward our shared mission of access, equity, and service to all.

Program proposals are now being accepted for the 2025 Convention and Expo. The Program Committee is seeking one hour programs and poster sessions that tie to the core competencies of public library work and focus on areas such as:

  • Innovative Programs and Services
  • Reader’s Advisory and Author Spotlight
  • Management and Leadership
  • Acquisitions, Cataloging and Collection Development
  • Intellectual Freedom and the Freedom to Read
  • Youth Services
  • Programming for Adults and Seniors

The online program submission form is available on the OLC website. Please consider asking one of the OLC's Divisions or Committees to sponsor your submission. While it is not required to have a sponsoring OLC Division or Committee for your session, it is recommended. The deadline is April 9.
