2026 OLC Elections Begin June 30
Voting in the Ohio Library Council's (OLC) elections will take place from June 30 through July 30, 2026. OLC Individual Members will elect four members to the Board of Directors, including one MLIS Director, one Library Trustee Director, and two At-Large Directors. Candidate biographies and position statements will be available through the online ballot.
Board representation is guided by the OLC Code of Regulations, specifically Section 3.05, which seeks to ensure a broad range of perspectives, experiences, and expertise among Board members. Considerations include geographic representation, library size, professional responsibilities, and years of experience.
The following candidates have been nominated for three-year terms on the OLC Board of Directors beginning in January 2027:
MLIS Director (One position to be elected)
- Travis Bautz, Executive Director, MidPointe Library System
- Ben Heckman, Director, Bexley Public Library
Library Trustee Director (One position to be elected)
- Sandra Hedlund Tunnel, Trustee, Ashland Public Library
- Robert Jenkins, Trustee, Bossard Memorial Library of Gallia County
At-Large Director (One position to be elected)
- Stacey Russell, Executive Director, Muskingum County Library System
- Travis McAfee, Assistant Director, Way Public Library
At-Large Director (One position to be elected)
- Bryan Howard, Director, Delaware County District Library
- Beth Steiner, Director, Auglaize County Public District Library
Division Action Council Elections
OLC members who belong to a Division will also be eligible to vote for Division Action Council leadership. Division preferences must be updated by June 20 to ensure eligibility for the appropriate ballot.
To update division selections:
- Sign in to the Member Info Hub.
- Select "My Info" from the left-hand menu.
- Navigate to the "Categories" section.
- Under Divisions, select the edit (pencil) icon.
- Choose the desired Divisions and select Done to save changes.
Online ballot links will be distributed to OLC members via email on June 30. Voting will remain open through July 30.
