ODT Posts August 2026 PLF Distribution

The Ohio Department of Taxation (ODT) posted the August 2026 PLF distribution of $40,620,805 – which is $238,517 (or - 0.58%) below ODT’s original estimate that was issued in July 2025 and ODT’s updated estimate issued in December 2025. The PLF Calendar Year (CY) 2026 year-to-date total is $320,924,787.

The Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) released preliminary information on state tax receipts for July as they update their FY 2027 revenue estimates. State tax collections continue to outperform revenue estimates. According to OBM, the state collected nearly $2.58 billion in General Revenue Fund (GRF) tax dollars in July, the first month of FY 2027. This was $259 million (or + 11.2%) more than was collected in July 2025.

As a reminder, the PLF line-item appropriation at the state level includes the following cash transfers for FY 2027:

• OPLIN: $3,689,788
• Library for the Blind: $1,274,194
• Ohioana Library Association: $310,516
• Regional Library Systems: $494,000
• State Library of Ohio: $4,527,474
