OLC Participates in Summer Reading Event at Ohio State Fair
The Ohio Library Council (OLC) was proud to attend a special summer reading event at the Ohio State Fair today, co-hosted by Usha Vance, Second Lady of the United States, and Fran DeWine, First Lady of Ohio. Held at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Pavilion in the Natural Resources Park, the event highlighted the importance of early literacy and celebrated two key initiatives: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio and the Second Lady Summer Reading Challenge.
The two distinguished guests co-hosted a unique scavenger hunt that took participants on an adventure through books, emphasizing Ohio’s natural landscapes. During their visit, both Second Lady Vance and First Lady DeWine shared their personal passion for reading and encouraged the young attendees to continue their learning journey throughout the summer months.
